The Maggie Garcia Memorial Scholarship was established by The Happy Lemons, a 2026 AHE graduating cohort in memory of their classmate, Maggie Garcia.
Maggie was a registered nurse, massage therapist, yoga instructor, osteopathic manual practitioner, mother of five, and a devoted student of the healing arts. Those who knew her remember her warmth, positive energy, and deep commitment to caring for others.
After Maggie passed away from cancer, her classmates raised $2,000 as a one-time class gift to honor her life and support future AHE students with financial need.
The Happy Lemon’s hope is to help two part-time students pursue or continue their education at AHE. In keeping with that intention, AHE will award the funds to eligible students based on financial need, with preference given to part-time students.
This one-time scholarship honors Maggie’s memory, the generosity of her cohort, and the spirit of community that carries forward through AHE students, graduates, and future homeopaths.
Total Fund: $2,000
Anticipated Awards: Two $1,000 scholarships
Eligibility: Current or incoming AHE students with demonstrated financial need
Preference: Part-time students
Use of Funds: Scholarship awards will be applied directly toward AHE tuition
Application Deadline: August 15, 2026
Award Notification: December 15, 2026
