At the Academy of Homeopathy Education (AHE), we celebrate graduates who bring unique perspectives and deep dedication to the field of homeopathy. Today, we shine the spotlight on Kristie Fleming, whose path from veterinary medicine to homeopathy was shaped by a lifelong interest in understanding health, a deep connection to nature, and a desire to find better solutions for both animals and people.
A Lifelong Interest in Health
Growing up in the foothills of Virginia, Kristie’s childhood was filled with ponies, farm life, and exploring the woods near her home. From an early age, she was drawn to the idea of caring for others, first declaring in first grade that she wanted to be a nurse. But it was during high school, while shadowing an ambulatory equine veterinarian, that her interest in medicine truly took hold.
Determined to follow this passion, Kristie earned a B.S. in Animal Science from Virginia Tech, followed by a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. With a love for working one-on-one with clients, she pursued a career in small animal medicine, building relationships with pets and their owners. But over time, she began to see patterns that troubled her—and with them, the first cracks in her confidence in conventional medicine.
Searching for More
Kristie witnessed many of her veterinary patients struggling with recurring health issues, such as seasonal allergies that worsened each year, requiring stronger medications with diminishing results. She saw the limits of symptom suppression and wondered if a different approach could provide long-term improvements rather than short-term relief.
Her perspective shifted even further when a personal experience brought these concerns closer to home. When her own child faced chronic health challenges, a friend introduced her to homeopathy. Skeptical at first, she began using it cautiously—first for minor ailments like sunburns and bruises, then expanding her knowledge with books and a home remedy kit. As she saw unexpected improvements, her curiosity deepened, and she wanted to learn more.
A New Path in Homeopathy
Kristie’s interest in homeopathy eventually led her to pursue formal education. She enrolled in AHE’s Professional Homeopathy Training Program, where she spent four years immersed in study, reading dozens of books, attending hundreds of lectures, and completing a rigorous supervised clinical program.
Now, as a classically trained homeopath, Kristie works with individuals looking for options beyond conventional medicine. She views health as a dynamic process and partners with her clients to support their well-being in a way that respects the body’s natural ability to adapt.
Helping Others Move Forward
Kristie’s approach is grounded in the idea that resilience allows people to navigate life’s challenges with greater ease. Whether working with pets in her early career or now with individuals seeking homeopathic care, her focus remains the same: to offer thoughtful, individualized support that aligns with each person’s unique experience.
🎓 Congratulations, Kristie! Your dedication and commitment to homeopathy are truly inspiring, and we are excited to see the impact you continue to make!
