How to Organize Your Homeopathy Kit

Have you ever been in the middle of an acute struggling to find the remedy you need because they are all tossed in a drawer with no rhyme or reason? Or maybe you’ve put off organizing your homeopathic remedies because your perfectionist tendencies have you paralyzed. You’re not alone! Once you get serious about homeopathy, a good organization system will make your life so much easier, and free up your time for more important pursuits, like studying homeopathy!

In this blog, we’ll share some tips from the AHE community on storing loose remedies, (which can be daunting if you have remedies from different pharmacies!), as well as some of our favorite kits if you don’t have the time.

If you have a lot of remedies, identifying remedies when they’re stored can be challenging. If they laying are in a drawer, the vials roll so you often can’t see the remedy name and if you store them lid up, there is no way to tell what remedy it is…unless you use stickers on the top of the lid! These round stickers come in a variety of colors and quantities, and can be designated to suit your needs. They fit perfectly on Boiron, Hahnemann Labs, OHM Pharma, or similarly-sized bottles.

Hint, hint! This is a great project for an afternoon you are listening to the SRP podcast!

Once your bottles are labeled, it’s time to set up your organization system. This is a great time to start an inventory. Sometimes, you may forget what you have an end up with multiple bottles of the same remedy. (Ask us how we know!) This can be done with a simple spreadsheet or log, whatever works best for you. Color coding by potency or remedy family can be helpful for visual people. If your remedy organizer has drawers, you can paste a label on the front of the drawer with that drawer’s contents.

See below for some examples:

Now that your bottles are labeled and your inventory complete, it’s time to decide on what type of storage system you want to use. If you can score a vintage apothecary cabinet or library card catalogue, these are perfect (and beautiful!) storage solutions that also enhance your home’s decor. You can also use photo organization cases, lipstick cases, empty travel cases, stackable ammo boxes, drawer systems designed for homeopathic remedies, or even craft and tool boxes. Boiron sells empty homeopathic remedy cases to fit their remedies.

Tip: Be sure to measure your remedies and double check the dimensions before purchase.

If you are looking for a more custom solution, you can have custom drawer organizers made for any cabinet you have. Denise and Al have beautiful pull-out drawers in their library. Swoon!

If the idea of organizing your remedies makes your head spin, a homeopathy kit might be just the thing you need. Helios Pharmacy has compact kits convenient for travel or home use. There are a variety of kits available depending on your needs. We recommend the Blue 36 remedy kit as a starter kit and you can build from there.

Cell salts are also an excellent supports to have on hand, so a cell salt kit is a wise choice for practitioners and self-prescribers alike. The economy kit from Best Made is an affordable way to get cell salts 1-12, and don’t forget Bioplasma, a combination of the 12 cell salts.
