You may have heard people talk about “clearing miasms” in homeopathy. But what does that actually mean—and is that how Hahnemann understood miasms and chronic disease?
In Episode 133 of Strange Rare Peculiar, Denise and Alastair go back to Hahnemann’s Chronic Diseases to look at what miasms were meant to help us understand and how that information can actually inform a chronic case.
The conversation gets into psora, sycosis, and syphilis; family patterns and miasmatic themes; larger versus constricted totalities; intercurrent remedies; and the question of whether miasms are acquired, inherited, or both.
And what about identifying a miasm and reaching for the corresponding nosode? Or assuming warts mean Thuja? When does a miasmatic framework help us understand the case—and when does it become a shortcut?
