Acute homeopathy isn’t always as simple as it seems on social media.
Homeopathy requires a mindset shift. If you’re going online and asking, “What remedy should I give for [insert symptom]?” — you’re still thinking allopathically.
Homeopathy doesn’t match one remedy to one symptom. It asks us to understand the whole picture — the context, the cause, the modalities, the peculiarities. And that takes training, observation, and time.
It also requires discernment:
👉 Is this part of the person’s chronic state — or is this a true acute?
👉 Is the symptom pointing to a complete, characteristic picture — or is it just one small thread in a larger story?
In Episode 104 of Strange, Rare & Peculiar, Denise Straiges and Alastair Gray return for Part 2 of their conversation on acute prescribing.
You’ll hear:
- How tools like LoCoMoCo and CLAMS help clarify the full symptom and why that is important
- Why Aphorism 6 (the unprejudiced observer) and Aphorism 153 (strange, rare, peculiar symptoms) still guide good case-taking
- Why AHE students receive intensive training in acute prescribing — and why that matters
- Why Hahnemann reminded us that even “simple” cases require effort and thought
Start with Episode 103 (Part 1) if you missed it — then come back for this deeper dive.
